About Us
If you look back a few generations, the Nielsen’s have been in Dublin since the early 1880’s when Peter Nielsen settled in Dublin from Denmark. He was a farmer with property leases in the Dougherty Valley and on the property that used to be Camp Parks. Peter Nielsen’s children and grandchildren continued farming in the area, and even founded the Murray School District in town. Part of the Nielsen property was donated to the city to then develop Nielsen Elementary School which remained open until the early 2000s. Keeping up with the generations before them, Robert and Ryan, along with other local Nielsen’s still own cattle grazing the hills of Dublin and San Ramon.
Fast-forward exactly a century later, Robert Nielsen founded Alpine Christmas Trees in the early 1980’s to become the Tri-Valley’s Premier Source of Fresh Christmas Trees.
Today, the family tradition continues with Robert’s son Ryan Nielsen and daughter-in-law Keri Nielsen striving to bring the fall/winter holiday experience to their customers. Ryan and Keri took over Alpine Christmas Trees, and added a fall festival/pumpkin patch known as KR Farms Pumpkin Patch. Their two daughters (6th generation local Nielsen’s) have been involved in the family business since they were born. The girls have grown up getting to see familiar faces and returning families throughout the years, making KR farms/Alpine Christmas Trees a true family owned and operated business. Living close to our season experiences in Dublin, this is truly a local small business and Dublin’s only locally owned and operated Pumpkin Patch and Christmas Tree Lot.
Supporting our business means supporting your community and a family who grew up in this area for the last 6 generations. Employees have returned year after year to help out, including some that have been helping out for 15+ years.
We are grateful for our many local customer here in Dublin and beyond.
