The short answer: yes. KR Farms Pumpkin Patch in Dublin is open on Halloween, Saturday, October 31, from 9am to 4pm. Patch entry and parking are free, pumpkins are sold by the pound, and we close early so everyone (our crew included) gets home in time to trick-or-treat.

Why close early on a Saturday? Because our families trick-or-treat too. We would rather send everyone home with a pumpkin at 4 than compete with the doorbell.

Do Pumpkin Patches Stay Open on Halloween?

Around the Bay Area it is a mix. Some patches close for the season right before the 31st, some run through the weekend, and hours on Halloween itself are the most common casualty of the calendar, which is why it is worth checking before you load the car. The day lands differently every year too: in 2026 it is a Saturday, which would normally be a full 9am to 9pm farm day.

KR Farms keeps it simple. The farm is open Halloween morning through 4pm, the evening belongs to trick-or-treating, and the whole lineup returns for one final day on Sunday, November 1. If you only remember one thing: pumpkins yes, corn maze no, home by candy time.

Last Minute Pumpkins on Halloween Morning

Halloween morning is the classic last minute pumpkin run, and this farm is built for it. Entry and parking are free, pumpkins are sold by the pound, and the patch sits right at the corner of Dublin Blvd and Arnold Rd, minutes from the Dublin/Pleasanton BART station and the 580/680 interchange. No country roads between you and a carve ready pumpkin.

It is a quick trip from all over the Tri-Valley: about 8 minutes from Pleasanton, 12 from San Ramon, 15 from Danville, and 18 from Castro Valley.

A Halloween Day Plan for Kids, Before the Candy

If the kids are bouncing off the walls before trick-or-treating even starts, point that energy at the farm. Halloween day activities for kids are the whole morning here:

🎃 The free patch: wander the rows in costume, take the photos, pick the last pumpkin.

🎪 The Fun Zone: a 90-minute session of bounce houses, corn pit, pedal cars, arcade and barnyard. $23 per child plus $5 adult entry.

💎 Gem mining: $5, and the treasure doubles as a non-candy prize.

🕓 Timing: sessions run morning into early afternoon, and the farm closes at 4pm sharp.

What's Not Running on Halloween

One honest heads-up: Halloween is a daytime visit. The farm closes at 4pm, an hour before the Rowdy Jack Trail, our lighted corn maze, switches on at 5. So there is no maze, no blacklight mini golf and no 6pm movie that night.

The night lineup gets one last run on Sunday, November 1, the final day of the season. The clocks fall back that morning, it is dark by about 5:30, and the farm is open 9am to 8pm, so the finale packs more than two hours of glowing maze before the season wraps. The calendar has the full schedule.

Three Tips for the Halloween Morning Run

Come at 9. Halloween is the shortest farm day of the season, 9am to 4pm, and the morning light is the best the patch gets for costume photos. Think by the pound. You are not buying a flat-rate pumpkin, so grab the porch carver and the little ones for the classroom in one trip.

Book the Fun Zone before you drive. Sessions are time slotted at checkout and the last ones run early afternoon, so pick your slot on the tickets page and build the morning around it.
